2017. április 3-4., Luxembourg
Dear colleagues from the Bar Associations,
On 3-4 April 2017, the European Centre for Judges and Lawyers, the European Institute of Public Administration in Luxembourg, is organising a seminar on
" EU Criminal Law: Recent Developments and Challenges”.
The course will provide an overview of what EU criminal law has achieved in making judicial cooperation among EU Member States more efficient, in setting common concepts related to 'euro crimes' and facilitating investigation and prosecution of cross border and especially organized crime. The course will critically asses the instruments adopted so far, will look into the Court of Justice of the European Union's contribution to the EU criminal law, examine national implementation issues and last but not least will discuss future avenues, in particular the establishment of the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) which could shape the Area of Justice of the European Union. Participants will benefit from the course in acquiring better understanding of
• EU criminal law acquis and its critical assessment
• Contribution of Eurojust to EU criminal law
• New directions of EU criminal law, especially with the establishment of the EPPO.
The working language of the seminar will be English.
Registration fees are at 810 Euro (EIPA Member fee) respectively 900 Euro (Regular fee) and include participation in the seminar, documentation, 2 lunches and beverages.
